This is the official webiste of Mountaineering Sports Club "Makedon" from Skopje, Macedonia.

The club was formed on the 2nd of April, 2008 (picture of founders at the first meeting). Our club has a variety of members, from very experienced members with climbs on Mont Blanc, Kilimanjaro etc. to young members mostly students. The most notable member of our club is Slobodan Jovanoski who was a member of Macedonian Himalayan expedition in the 80's.

Four of our members are a part of the Mountain Rescue Unit with the Red Cross of Skopje.

As a part of our educational activities, eight of our members finished a course for First Medical Aid in the Army Hospital in Skopje.

We are forming a club trying to maintain high standards in all aspects. Following this principle, we have an obligatory insurance policy for every mountaineering member, and an optional insurance policy for every member that wants to be involved in climbing activities (sport climbing and alpine climbing). We also have a special expert comission run by Slobodan Jovanoski that plans education actitvities and approves the leaders of our tours.

We also organized the Sport Climbing Camp near Ohrid after recently joining the Sport climbing association.

We are open for cooperation with foreign mountaineers, esspecially in helping them to tour Macedonia.

We have regular meetings every Wednesday at 20h, at the municipality Karpos (barrack No. 5).
